Let’s See What’s Going on in There.

Since we can’t crawl inside a sewer line ourselves (who would want to) to inspect for clogs, plumbers need state-of-the-art video inspection equipment.  The plumbing camera is attached to a screen for real time visualization that can also be recorded.  Finding the root cause of the problem in a pipe or sewer system in a timely manner will greatly increase productivity.

Using a sewer camera to visualize problems will aid your plumbing pro in permanently fixing plumbing problems the first time they occur.  Knowing the specific nature of a plumbing problem will also help them better determine the most efficient way to deal with it, saving you time, effort, and money.

The man with the cam is Snohomish Plumber, Shawn Allen.  Shawn has been inspecting pipes and sewer lines around the Seattle area for decades.  He is ready to come to your home or office for expert video inspection that is causing your drains to clog.  Give Shawn a call for fast, reliable service at (425) 367-4744.

It is All Interconnected.

That is what it’s like beneath your Seattle area home.  It is out of sight, out of mind, but all of the plumbing fixtures, drains, and pipes in your home are connected to the biggest (and most important) piece of plumbing in your entire home.  That is the main sewer line.  Over time, the main sewer line can take a REAL beating!

Here are some of the common causes of a clogged sewer line –

1.  Broken or ruptured sewer pipes
2.  The line is sunken due to changing soil conditions.
3.  Tree roots…they are lovely to look at above ground, but destructive below.
4.  Every time you pour grease down the drain it takes a toll.

And so on, and so on it goes.  There are plenty of reasons for main sewer lines to “give up the ghost”.  There is one man in Snohomish who can fix it for you.  He is Seattle area drain cleaner Shawn Allen.  At the very first sign of a clogged drain…think about the main sewer line and call Shawn at (425) 367-4744.

Let’s Take a Look and See What’s in There.

If the proctologist says that, you are cringing as to what happens next!  When your friendly neighborhood sewer line inspector says that it means that he is going to get to the heart of the problem that you may be having on your property.  Both activities may be a necessity, but let’s talk about the latter.

The obvious purpose of a sewer camera is to be able to see what’s causing a blockage or backup within the sewer pipe itself.  The best part is that the inspector does NOT need to dig up the back yard like he did in the old days…or just guess as to where the problem is occurring.  You can avoid expensive repairs that may not have been needed in the first place.

Do you want to see this for yourself?  We invite you to visit the website of Snohomish, WA area plumber Shawn Allen at plumbersnohomish.com.  Please click on the video inspection tab and view the actual video to the right.  You will see the steps that Shawn takes to troubleshoot the problem.  Call him today at (425) 367-4744.

Cleaning a Sewer Line.

Go around the room sometime and ask everyone something they find repugnant.  Then, hit them with…how about cleaning out a sewer line?  I’ll bet that you get plenty of EWWWs!  Cleaning a sewer line is not only nasty business, it is absolutely necessary if you plan on continuing to live in your Seattle area home.

Here are some of the steps that your friendly sewer line cleaner will take –

1.  He will loosen the cap on the drain pipe.
2.  Then, open the cap and let the build-up drain out.
3.  Feed the auger cable into the pipe.
4.  Hose down the pipe.
5.  Then, slowly and skillfully pull the auger from the pipe.

Sounds like a good time, doesn’t it?  Of course not!  It is a routine job for professional sewer line cleaner Shawn Allen.  Shawn is the owner of Allen Plumbing located in Snohomish and serving the greater Seattle area.  He can be found on the web at plumbersnohomish.com.  Call Shawn and let him do the dirty work at (425) 367-4744.

It all Comes Back to the Sewer Line.

All of your plumbing fixtures including the drains and pipes in your home are connected to the biggest (and most important) piece of plumbing in your entire home…the main sewer line.  Ranging from improper or repeated use of these fixtures, drains, and pipes and many other outside factors, the main sewer line can take a beating.

What are some of the common causes of a clogged sewer line?

1.  Severe damage to the pipes
2.  Sewer lines sag and sink over time with changing soil conditions
3.  Tree roots just keep growing and growing
4.  Too much debris flushed down the toilet
5.  Grease gets repeatedly poured down the drain

Maybe you thought those sewer lines were indestructible, but they definitely are NOT!  Sewer line repair and replacement tasks should always be performed by a certified, professional plumber.  In Snohomish and the greater Seattle area that man and that company is Shawn Allen owner of Allen Plumbing.  Don’t hesitate.  Call (425) 367-4744 today.

I Love Living in the Woods.

There are times when having a lot of trees on your property is a beautiful thing, then there are the times when those tree roots infiltrate your sewer pipes resulting in potential disaster on your property.  Don’t assume that cutting down the trees will alleviate your problem.  Clay and cast iron are rarely used these days because of those loose-fitting joints that tree roots can penetrate.

Here are some steps that may need to be taken –

1.  Digging up the old line and replacing it with plastic
2.  Poisoning the old tree roots that are causing the problem
3.  Covering the existing pipe with plastic fabric and cement

Do you have the equipment, the expertise, and the basic knowledge to do all of this safely and completely?  Shawn Allen does!  Shawn is your Snohomish full-service plumbing professional.  Sewer repair is just one of the many services that he provides in the Seattle area.  Contact Snohomish plumber Shawn Allen at (425) 367-4744.

Sewer Cleaning…How Much do you Want to Know?

The very thought of cleaning a sewer can send some people into nausea.  It is one of those unpleasant tasks that people ACTUALLY train to do.  Since one of those people is not you it is important to know that an abundance of unscrupulous entrepreneurs in the sewer and drain-cleaning business has led to an all-time low in trustworthiness for the industry!

Here are some tips to avoid unnecessary service –

1.  Spot the wrong questions so you are not preyed upon as an elderly person.
2.  Beware of those traveling in pairs playing “good cop…bad cop”.
3.  Make sure that watching a video inspection is really done live on YOUR property.
4.  Do a little research on the sewer cleaner that you hire.

How does over four decades of expertise in the field of sewer cleaning sound?  That is what Shawn Allen of plumbersnohomish.com brings to the table!  Shawn has been up to his knees in (you know what) more times than he can count, and YOU can count on him.  For honest sewer cleaning in the Seattle area call Shawn at (425) 367-4744.

A Visual Inspection of a Sewer System.

This can be tricky, and it demands that a professional plumber do the inspecting.  You may be having your own system being inspected, or you are in the market to buy a Seattle area home from someone else and you want to make sure that the sewage system is in perfect working order.  Anything else could be financially devastating!

Here are some things that can be missed –

1.  Partially blocked sewer lines may be missed in their importance.
2.  A cracked heat exchanger.
3.  Hidden electrical problems.
4.  Nearly unnoticeable leaks.

If you are going to have a visual inspection done on a home in the Seattle area why not call someone who has done this type of work for decades?  Shawn Allen, a Snohomish plumber knows the ins and outs of our area’s sewer systems.  He is even proud of that fact!  When you need a sewer inspection call Shawn at (425) 367-4744.

Do You Need to Replace Your Sewer Line?

Nobody looks forward to it, of course, but many residents of Snohomish and the Seattle area will be faced with it sooner or later.  Tree roots often invade and clog broken sewer lines. It has been said that copper sulfate, available from plumbers repels roots.  While this may only be a temporary fix, it can buy time before extensive work is required.

Have you looked at your homeowner’s insurance policy?  They generally EXCLUDE sewer line replacements.  If you are looking at a sewer line endorsement to your policy, it may cost you about $100 per year.  Depending on your family’s situation this may be a viable alternative worth looking into.

When and if that time comes the right man to call will be Shawn Allen.  For decades, as the owner of Allen Plumbing, he has repaired and replaced sewer lines in Snohomish and the surrounding area.  Whenever you have a plumbing need in the Seattle area call Shawn at this phone number first (425) 367-4744.

Lights, Camera, Action.

No, this is not a movie set…it is the action taken to find out what is going on with your sewage system.  Not quite as romantic is it?  What is a video sewer inspection?  To inspect the pipes and find possible problems, a special sewer video camera head connected to a flexible cable is inserted into the main sewer line cleanout, and snaked through the pipes.

While it is an important tool in a leak location test, a sewer camera by itself cannot be used to determine if you have a leak.  Since the camera is inside the pipe, it cannot see the outside of the pipe which simply means it can’t see if something is leaking OUT of the pipe. It can only show what is going on INSIDE the pipe.

For practical evidence of this we invite you to visit www.plumbersnohomish.com.  Here, you can view a sewer cam video.  It isn’t pretty, but it should educate you on what may be needed under your Seattle area home.  If and when you need us, we are a phone call away.  Call Shawn at (425) 367-4744 before things get worse.

Keep your Drains Running Freely.

A backed-up drain can bring a household to a standstill.  The water is just one problem…the smell is another.  It is simply something you wish to avoid before you have to make that inevitable call to your favorite plumber.  So, let’s try to keep it from happening in the first place.  Wouldn’t that be better?

Every time you use your sink run some hot water through it.  How many of us do that?  Now and then, throw a handful of baking soda down the drain and run hot water through it.  Have you tried vinegar?  You may be surprised at its effectiveness.  Just pour a cup down the drain, let it sit for 30 minutes, then wash it down with (you guessed it) hot water!

All of these methods may make a big difference on how often you need to call a professional.  Fortunately, if you do then you know whom to call…drain busters!  Shawn Allen of Allen Plumbing is your Snohomish area drain cleaning pro.  If you need him call him any time of the day for all general plumbing services at (425) 367-4744.

Your Sewer Line is NOT Hibernating.

You wish…it would be nice to have peace of mind that your sewer line is not going to go bad just as the ground freezes in the Seattle area.  The job of replacing your sewer line becomes so much tougher in the dead of winter.  Now is the time to troubleshoot sewer line problems before it is too late.

1.  Keep your home’s interior warm
2.  Remove garden hoses
3.  Check water drains more frequently

Experience vs. Apprentice.

Before you pick up that phone next time think about whom is going to come into your home or business and fix your toilet, your sink, your water heater, your sump pump (NOT IN your home, I hope), etc.  Do you want an experienced veteran or someone who is cutting their teeth working for a large plumbing company?

Perhaps the choice lies in reputation.  Since the apprentice does not have one yet, it reverts to the veteran plumber with years of success in his chosen field.  If that particular plumber did all of the above repairs and has done them since the 1970’s I think I might take a careful look at his website and check him out.

So, do it!  If you live in the Seattle area visit www.plumbersnohomish.com.  Shawn Allen has been doing all of this and more out of Snohomish WA for about 4 decades.  As a master plumber working in the Seattle metro he truly is the last plumber that you will ever need to call.  Next time, pick up the phone and punch in (425) 367-4744.

Bringing Your Household to a Screeching Halt!

This time of year, before school is back in session your home and living area have probably had quite a workout.  People are coming in and out, toilets are flushing more often, etc.  One thing that will paralyze the flow of your daily routine is a backed-up sewer.  The truth is, it may be getting slowly worse with the passage of summer.

Back in the old days someone had to put on their gear and get into the system to check it out.  Fortunately, today there is something called video inspection.  What happens in this case is that a video camera takes the brunt of the sewage and reveals exactly what is the root of the problem.  It could be a root itself or even cracked pipes.

No question about it, having your sewer system inspected is essential to your family’s comfort.  Whenever that happens in the Seattle area you immediately call Shawn Allen.  He is Snohomish Washington’s sewer video inspection professional and has been since the technology has existed.  Call Shawn right away at (425) 367-4744.

Save Money on Plumbing Repair.

That sounds good to me.  Plumbers can charge just about anything they want when you are faced with an emergency.  I want to get to know my plumber like I do my auto mechanic, my family doctor, or my dentist.  It really is THAT important to have one person with whom you trust ALL of your home’s plumbing repair.

After a Seattle winter what is your general plumbing situation?  Could a pipe be leaking?  Is the sewer backing up?  Are toilets and sinks in your home draining more slowly?  It would be nice to have one person who is able to troubleshoot every one of those problems.  You would prefer it to be a “veteran” of the plumbing wars.

Just such an individual is right here in Snohomish.  He is Shawn Allen.  Shawn is your Seattle area full-service plumbing professional.  Visit his website to see this fact for yourself at www.plumbersnohomish.com.  See all that he does and how long he has been doing it.  Call him today at (425) 367-4744.

Having a Family Plumber.

Do you have one auto repair shop that you always go to for regular maintenance as well as major repairs?  Do you have a dentist that the adults in your family go to because you trust him/her?  Shouldn’t you say the same thing about the “family plumber”.  The family plumber is someone who does ALL of the tasks large and small and will never do more than you need.

What a comfort it is to know that when the sink or toilet needs fixing you can call him.  When a water heater needs to be installed or repaired you call the same guy.  If you are thinking of remodeling the kitchen…ditto.  And if the sewer line ever needs to be cleaned you have the same “guy Friday” just a phone call away.

Residents of Snohomish, Washington have had that peace of mind for decades.  He is full-service Snohomish plumber Shawn Allen.  If you are new to the area visit www.plumbersnohomish.com.  Look at all of the services he provides and make him your family plumber.  Give him a call at (425) 367-4744.

Getting to the Root of the Problem.

No doubt about it, the “root” cause of sewer problems is more often than not caused by the deep roots of trees on your property.  It is quite simple really.  If you own a home or business for any length of time the roots have reached deeper and deeper into the ground.  Eventually there will be a confrontation with the sewer line.

What is the purpose of a tree root anyway?  Well, the root keeps the tree upright and stores food, water, and other nutrients.  This is a living organism after all, so it will do everything that it can to preserve its life and health.  As far as grasses and garden plants go they have a fibrous root system that only grows in the upper soil so your sewer line is not threatened.

When push comes to shove those powerful, continuously growing roots will win the battle between nature and a man-made sewer line.  When that occurs, there is one clear-cut choice in the Seattle area.  That is Snohomish plumber Shawn Allen.  He has been “rooting” around sewers for decades.  Give him a call right away at (425) 367-4744.

How Many Plumbers Do You Need on the Scene?

The normal plumbing emergency requires that one plumber show up at your home and fix the problem…right?  I mean, that’s the way it always plays out.  The question is why do you need to hire some national company with a fleet of plumbers who have different levels of skill to fix a toilet?  Why not trust ONE plumber to do all of your work?

The point is this - when a plumbing company has a higher overhead you will end up paying for it.  In the Seattle area, there are hundreds of choices when you need a toilet installed or repaired, a water heater repaired or replaced, a sewer line cleaned or completely replaced.  One job…one man.  There is no price that you can put on trust.

For two generations people of Snohomish and the Seattle area know they can trust master plumber Shawn Allen for just about any plumbing need that will ever arise.  Isn’t is better to save money and know whom is working around your house?  The next time a plumbing emergency rears its ugly head, call Snohomish plumber Shawn Allen at (425) 367-4744.
