Your Kitchen…a Center of Activity.

This has become a popular phrase these days “center of activity”.  When summer comes, your kitchen may get quite a work-out.  The kids are home from school, running in and out of the house.  Finally, you have made the decision to do some kitchen remodeling this summer, but where do you start?

Here are a few tips –

1.  Have a plan Stan and Fran.
2.  Set a budget.
3.  Hire a professional to do the installation.

It really can be as easy as one, two, three.  Point #3 is the important part.  If you live in the Seattle area that decision becomes easy.  Call Snohomish kitchen remodeling expert Shawn Allen.  Shawn has been in the plumbing and remodeling business for decades and he will steer you in the right direction staying on budget.  Give him a call today at (425) 367-4744.

Rainy Season…Sump Pump Season.

When you need it, you really need it RIGHT NOW.  That is why the maintenance and repair of your sump pump is so very important.  Your basement sump pump sits quietly for most of the year, then comes the rainy season in the Seattle area and suddenly it becomes the most important part of your home preventing basement flooding.

Here are some common checking tips for your sump pump:

1.  Check the float to make sure it is performing up to peak
2.  Thoroughly clean out the sump pit…remove those loose items that have built up
3.  Check the impeller.  Debris sneaks through the screen and jams the impeller
4.  Make sure that the electrical connection plugged in properly and not frayed.

These steps and more are something that a sump pump expert can follow blindfolded.  Shawn Allen is the right guy in our area!  He is the owner of Allen Plumbing working out of Snohomish WA and the greater Seattle area.  If a cranky sump pump is disrupting your home call Shawn at (425) 367-4744.  It is hard to use your cell phone under water!

Lights, Camera, Action.

No, this is not a movie set…it is the action taken to find out what is going on with your sewage system.  Not quite as romantic is it?  What is a video sewer inspection?  To inspect the pipes and find possible problems, a special sewer video camera head connected to a flexible cable is inserted into the main sewer line cleanout, and snaked through the pipes.

While it is an important tool in a leak location test, a sewer camera by itself cannot be used to determine if you have a leak.  Since the camera is inside the pipe, it cannot see the outside of the pipe which simply means it can’t see if something is leaking OUT of the pipe. It can only show what is going on INSIDE the pipe.

For practical evidence of this we invite you to visit www.plumbersnohomish.com.  Here, you can view a sewer cam video.  It isn’t pretty, but it should educate you on what may be needed under your Seattle area home.  If and when you need us, we are a phone call away.  Call Shawn at (425) 367-4744 before things get worse.
