Don’t Ignore your Bathroom(s).

These are some of the most visited rooms in our home, but we tend NOT to pay as much attention to them as, say our kitchen, living room, or family room.  Maybe it is time to pay some mind to these frequently used portions of your castle.  You can devote as much money as you want toward remodeling, just make sure that it is done right the first time!

Here is a partial checklist to follow –

1.  Leave the plumbing where it is already located.
2.  Look for flooring alternatives.
3.  Consider putting in open shelves.
4.  Go to the light…pay attention to the lighting.
5.  Make sure the paint keeps the area bright and inviting.

There is a great master plumber in the Seattle area who is also very adept with refurbishing projects.  He is Snohomish area bathroom remodeling expert Shawn Allen.  Why not give him a call before you take the next step and share with him your hopes and dreams for the project?  His phone number is (425) 367-4744.

My Garbage Disposal Stopped Working!

Little brings a kitchen to a screeching halt more than a broken garbage disposal.  Now you have a smelly mess and you need to keep running into the garage with bags of goo until the waste pick-up people come to your curbside.  When your disposal is on the fritz there are some things that you can try at home to fix it.

Some of those tactics are –

1.  Flip the switch.  Is there power going to the disposal?
2.  Unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in.
3.  It may be clogged.
4.  Reconnect the power and run water through the drain.

None of these methods may fix your problem, so then it is time to call a master plumber.  The right man for the job is Snohomish, WA garbage disposal repair and replacement professional Shawn Allen.  It seems like Shawn has been working on Seattle area garbage disposals since woolly mammoths were chewing up waste!  Give him a call at (425) 367-4744.

Help…My Sink is under Water!

It starts out slowly.  Your kitchen or bathroom sink is not emptying at the same pace that it used to.  It seems to happen suddenly, now your sink is literally overflowing if you leave the faucet on for any length of time.  This situation is not only annoying it can result in a lot of damage to the floors below.

What are some DIY solutions to a clogged sink?

1.  Fill your sink with enough water to cover the rubber of a plunger.
2.  Now apply elbow grease and move the plunger up and down several times with gusto.
3.  See if the water is receding.  If not, try again.
4.  You might pour one cup of baking soda down the drain combined with a cup of vinegar.
5.  This solution will foam up, so don’t freak out.

For any major clogs in your home’s sinks call the plumber.  In Snohomish that man is Shawn Allen a master of unclogging sinks at your home or office.  Shawn has been a master plumber in Snohomish for decades.  When you have any plumbing need, especially emergencies rely on Shawn Allen your Seattle area plumber.  Call (425) 367-4744.

Installing a Fiberglass Tub and Shower.

This is a great project for winter.  Imagine the hours of comfort and joy that you will derive from a brand-new shower and luxurious tub!  Hopefully, this is the year that you have decided to remodel your bathroom.  You certainly spend enough time in there.  Why not enjoy the experience to the fullest?

Here are some installation tips –

1.  In most cases, replace the shower valve while the wall framing is still exposed.
2.  Attach the overflow pipe to the tub prior to the installation.
3.  Apply putty to the threaded portion of the strainer.
4.  Install the trip lever from inside the tub.
5.  Very carefully set the tub into place against the wall studs.

There are many other steps.  It doesn’t seem like a DIY job does it?  It is, in fact one of the many talents of Snohomish master plumber Shawn Allen.  He is a Seattle area bath tub and shower installation expert.  Now that you have saved for the project, make it come to life by calling Shawn at (425) 367-4744.
