Look for that Leak.

This time of year, you may notice a tell-tale sign of water leaking into your home.  First of all, check your toilets.  Make sure that no valve is stuck then check your water heater.  Those cranky appliances have a way of slowly giving out as they age.  Then look at any and all appliances that have some sort of water connection.

Your first call might be to the utility company serving you in the Seattle area.  They are responsible if the meter needs to be repaired or replaced.  The great news is this…the utility company is responsible by law to reimburse you for any and all overages that you may have paid during the leakage.

When the problem occurs in your castle with the water line itself then you need a master plumber.  In Snohomish and the surrounding area that call should be made to Shawn Allen.  He will come to your home and either replace, repair, or re-route your water line.  For all general plumbing needs keep this number handy (425) 367-4744.

Out with the Old…In with the New.

It is a typical New Year’s mantra.  You have hopes and dreams for 2018.  Some are personal, while others tend to be more practical.  In that latter category lies a new sink, bathtub, or toilet.  It may be a modest goal, but it will instantly do two things…enhance the quality of your family’s life and increase your home’s value.  That’s not a bad combination!

How old is your home?  How long have you lived in it?  Has your family grown over the years?  These are always considerations when it comes time to consider new fixtures.  A new sink or tub may require a bit of planning and expertise, so please DO NOT try to tackle this project by yourself lest you end up knee deep in water!

Your plan for new bathroom fixtures starts with Shawn Allen of Allen Plumbing.  For more than four decades Shawn has repaired and replaced plumbing fixtures throughout the Snohomish and Seattle area.  Make a New Year’s resolution to invite him into your home for an estimate of your project by calling him at (425) 367-4744.

Keep your Drains Running Freely.

A backed-up drain can bring a household to a standstill.  The water is just one problem…the smell is another.  It is simply something you wish to avoid before you have to make that inevitable call to your favorite plumber.  So, let’s try to keep it from happening in the first place.  Wouldn’t that be better?

Every time you use your sink run some hot water through it.  How many of us do that?  Now and then, throw a handful of baking soda down the drain and run hot water through it.  Have you tried vinegar?  You may be surprised at its effectiveness.  Just pour a cup down the drain, let it sit for 30 minutes, then wash it down with (you guessed it) hot water!

All of these methods may make a big difference on how often you need to call a professional.  Fortunately, if you do then you know whom to call…drain busters!  Shawn Allen of Allen Plumbing is your Snohomish area drain cleaning pro.  If you need him call him any time of the day for all general plumbing services at (425) 367-4744.
